Kitchen Renovation Week Two
Hi Guys,
I just thought I’d update you on what has happened in week two of the kitchen renovation process. After a bit of a slow start to the week, due to the bank holiday and availability of the plumber, I’ve been really impressed how much the building team were able to get done! Particularly as the team turned up on Sunday to make sure they completed what the hoped to this week!
The week started with the door frame to the old dining room doorway being ripped out and a stud wall put up in its place. This will eventually form part of our new pantry!
The builders then ripped out the ceiling in the original kitchen to make way for the plumber to reroute our gas and water pipes.
This was needed to be done to make way for the plumber to move the boiler from it’s current location on the wall between the old kitchen and dining rooms which is being removed to it’s new home on the back wall of what will be the new dining area.
While the plumber was moving the boiler the builders came in to start laying the electric cables for the new kitchen layout. This involved several discussions over light and plug socket locations before they chiseled into the walls to lay the cables.
The team also cut a hole in the floor of the new kitchen to run the new cables and pipe work for the kitchen island and range.
I’m so happy with how the works are coming along. I’m starting to see how the new kitchen will fit into the space which is really exciting! I hope you have a great week and I'll talk to you again soon.
