Homemade Paprika and Herb Bread
I find there is something magical about freshly baked bread. There’s nothing better than a slice of bread warm from the oven with butter melting on top! This Homemade Paprika and Herb Bread does not disappoint. It smells and tastes amazing and I can’t wait to be able to make it again when our new kitchen is finished.
INGREDIENTS
1.5kg of Strong Bread Flour
2 Tablespoons Active Yeast
50ml Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Paprika
1 Tablespoon Garlic Salt
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1/2 Tablespoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1.5 Pints Warm Water
METHOD
Put the flour in a large mixing bowl with the yeast, paprika, oregano, garlic salt, sugar and salt.
Add approximately 50ml of olive oil give a rough mix to start the bread off.
When it has started to combine, add roughly 1.5 pints of warm water.
Knead the bread until it feels elasticy or bounces back when you prod it. If the mixture feels too wet add some more flour.
Cover with a damp cloth and leave to prove in a warm area for an hour or two.
Knock the dough back, then shape however you like. Leave to prove for another hour or so.
Preheat your oven to 180°C. When hot put in your bread for 20 to 30 minutes. You can test to see if it’s done by knocking lightly on the bottom of the breast it should sound hollow.
Enjoy!
